A smile might seem like a little thing to give someone. In this episode of We are John Deere, Pete Vincent explains that simple acts of kindness like a smile or a wave are one of the most meaningful things a person can offer to someone new coming into a large company where they might feel intimidated. As a wage trainer at John Deere Dubuque Works, Vincent and his team are often the first people to greet new employees.

“The great part about my job is that I get to introduce new employees to the company. We’re the face of the company … the first friends that they make … the first people that they associate with the company,” Vincent says. He adds that it’s one reason why he works hard to create a good first impression. “We help instill in them what it means to work at John Deere. We’re all in this together.”

We help instill in them what it means to work at John Deere. We’re all in this together.”
